DESIGN

Simplicity is complexity resolved.

Believing in a less is more philosophy, Billy's work captures a deceptively simple design aesthetic resulting in pieces that are both contemporary in concept and timeless in style.  To ensure the lifespan of his designs, he refers to these five values when developing new work:

Functional:   Every product must serve a positively interactive purpose.

Simple:         Shapes and design features should be conspicuously inconspicuous.

Versatile:      Where appropriate, individual products or designed components should be multi-purposeful.

Efficient:      Shapes must be individually and collectively designed to minimise physical effort and maximise comfort.

Durable:       All aspects of a product should be considered with longevity in mind, both in concept and material.

INTERNSHIPS

Having completed two apprenticeships, Billy knows well the benefits that first hand experience in a creative practice can have on a career.  Hence, from time to time, he offers internships to dedicated and skilled practitioners or students.  To date, Billy has worked students and graduates from Central St Martins, Goldsmith's University, Cambridge University, Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts and Design and Plymouth University.

Applicants with a background in ceramic design and competent CAD and model making skills (in a variety of materials) preferred.
